http://www.flickr.com/photos/cakesbyrhiannon/4842846769/

This is my latest cake I made for a customer whos daughter is turning 21.

First time doing this type of cake. Happy with how it turned out. Thanks so much to Jules for her advice on making the shoe. And Viv for the black board covering!

Customer hasn't picked it up yet but has seen photos and they are so thrilled with it - perfect result!

Thanks for looking.

Well done Rhiannon! You should be SO proud! Congrats

Thanks Jules, coming from the shoe expert!!!

Nothing on yours. But being my first one and being a paid order I didn't want to try a too difficult design for the shoe - I played it safe.

Michelle, a few tips that i received which worked for me was leave as much time for your shoe to dry, this was my second shoe as I needed to add heaps more tylose to the black to make it hard. But having said this the shoe only had one week to dry as I was adding parts to it.
Carve your heel from styro (thanks Jules), made life much easier and I think you would end up with a very heavy shoe without it!
I went to the op shoe and bought a pair of high heels, I cut all the straps off, disinfected them and placed baking paper on top to dry the sole - this worked for me but I've heard it hasn't worked well for others.
Best of luck, I had fun doing this design!

Thank you Rhi & Saltylass.
I have been watching the pinkcake box tutorial over and over again. I think I am seeing it in my sleep now!
Did you cover the box sides as she did with the panels or all in one piece of fondant?

sorry just checked this thread now. I covered it all in the light pink and then put the lid on top.

Gorgeous, can't wait to make one also!! Do you mind me asking, when you took the photo of the cake how you achieved such a perfect white background?

Thanks!!!
